| About
Fryup Press |
Here
at Fryup Press we pride ourselves in giving a friendly,
helpful service. We are a small rural publishing business
with a only a few published authors on our list whom
we can spend time on. We have also helped several
other authors to self-publish their own work with
great success. All the books are written by country
people for all who love the countryside.
We can give you an honest opinion on your work and
help you to the next stage of publishing, should we
decide not to publish the book ourselves. To those
new to publishing, who may consider self-publishing
their work, we can offer free advice and guidance
throughout the process. If you need extra help we
offer reasonable rates for work on the layout, formatting
and cover design. We can produce your work as pdf
files for both the manuscript and the cover in a format
acceptable to printers. Once your book has been formatted
we can obtain an estimate for the printing, regardless
of how few or how many books you would like.
We are not a vanity publisher and make no false claims
about sales or ask for any money up front. We either
take on your work at no cost to you or you pay only
for the services you require.

| Three
of the books published by Fryup Press have won national
awards with the David St John Charitable Trust in
conjunction with Writers' News and Writer's Magazine,
the only magazines published solely for writers. These
were:
'Riding for Life, a Journey across the north of England'
by Ann Bowes. This book won the cup in the class for self-published books for charity. It also came second overall in all classes of
self-published books.
'Bilberry Pie and other tasty tales.' This was written
by members of the Egton Bridge Writers' Group and
was voted the best anthology of the year.
Cheques and certificates were received for these two
books in consecutive years at prize-giving ceremonies
at the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate.
'Friends Forever' by Ann Bowes was runner-up in the
self-published fiction class where the author received
her prize-winning cheque and certificate at Author's
House in London.
